“Gentrification” is an often-used term to describe changing neighborhoods in America. To some it means the destruction of a certain character of a place. To others it means transformation for the better. It conjures up and exposes fault lines along race, class and community. In many cities in America, it is a flashpoint, which exposes income inequality and exploitation in the starkest manner.
Over the last two decades, Brooklyn has experienced gentrification like no other city in America.
Through interviews of some of the characters that lived on the block, the film captures the character of the street and what made it unique. The film visually contrasts “what was”, “what is” and “what is to become” and poses a question to the viewer, what does change really mean?

Holy (un)Holy River is a feature length documentary about the river Ganges in India. The film documents the 1500 mile journey the filmmakers took from the head of the glacier that feeds the river to the delta. Focusing on the threat the river faces from climate change, industrial pollution and the human impact, the film captures the dire state of affairs. Premiering at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival, the film has screened around the world and has won several awards. It will be broadcasted on the National Geographic channel in India in 2019.
